All day private Concealed Carry class for women only. This class incorporates classroom as well as live-fire instruction in a safe, facilitating learning environment. Minimum of 5 people requested for this class; invite your friends!
Please note if you need to rent a gun, ammo and eye and ear protection, a one-time $40 fee will cover these.

Firearms instructor, CPR/First Aid Instructor
Cameron Yarberry, owner of Urban & Rural Survival, is a Concealed Carry and Home Defense instructor and Range Safety Officer certified through the USCCA, as well as an NRA Pistol Instructor.
Cameron is also a certified BLS Instructor through the American Heart Association.
He was a volunteer fire fighter with Log Hill Fire Department, and currently lives off-grid in the Log Hill area near Montrose, CO.

Having a grand ol time. A parameter that I like to see with folks I teach who concealed carry is to be able to draw from concealment and put 3 rounds on an A Zone target in under 3 seconds from approximately 5 yards. This is a good foundational point and proves the shooter has put in consistent time and training in. It generally will take up to a couple thousand rounds and consistent training to be able to do this. Are you able to hit that benchmark?

The sight-in process doesn't have to be complicated. Especially on a shorter sight in such as the 36 yard zero I experimented with today. First time with an lpvo and I have to admit I'm digging it. 3 groups to sight in, first two shots way low right. Don't be afraid to make large corrections; on these I moved it about 12 clicks in each direction and it is a 1/2 moa adjustment. After this I had one more large correction to make, and I got lucky because I put all three rounds basically touching in the bullseye. After that is was all fun pinging some steel out to 550 yds.

It's that time of year again. What I love about elk hunting is the extraordinary amount of effort it takes to pull a legit hunt together. It requires consistent physical training to be able to drag an elk out of rugged mountains on your back. Consistent practice and shooting with a rifle to get everything dialed in, collect DOPE, and feel confident to take that shot.
And a hefty amount of gear and knowledge of how to use said gear to be able to handle what 12000ft will throw at you at the end of October in Colorado. Can't wait for this year's hunt!!

Wetterhorn peak summit from west fork Cimarron. This was my first real hike of the summer, been a little lazy 😬 and I paid for it lol. Not going to lie, this one kicked my ass pretty good. I've done this hike before off 1 hour of sleep and for some reason, this time it was even harder. Approx 14.5 miles round trip, and close to 5000ft elevation gain. Glad to have a couple solid dudes join me

Backcountry awareness. Exploring nature is one of my favorite things to do, but there are of course always some risks. Here are some good general precautions:
-Tell someone where you're going
-Have more "stuff" than you think you need (clothing, food, water, emergency supplies
-Carry medical, and carry REAL medical not just a booboo pouch. Know how to use it
-Be aware of your surroundings and be careful about pushing your limits too far. Challenge yourself, but get home alive to share the story.
-Carry a means of self protection and know how to use it, whether it be a gun, spray etc.

Fun scout for our upcoming 1st rifle elk hunt here in Colorado. We experienced just about every kind of weather possible: sunshine with nice temps, heavy rain, hail, and thundersnow, culminating to some of the most epic views we have ever had! Good thing we came prepared with proper gear. Just because it is nice weather at home doesn't mean it can't get nasty at 12000ft!
